Inroduction

Maitland Repertory Society produces five mainstream plays each year, usually two Reamus productions and at least one Romulus event. There are three groups which meet regularly for play readings, training, development, social interaction or to prepare plays for drama festivals.

These groups are:

  • Junior Repertory
  • Reamus Youth (see separate section)
  • Romulus

Junior Repertory

Maitland Junior Repertory is a group that exists to aid children in developing acting and other theatre skills and to entertain the general public.

Maitland Junior Repertory is for young people in Primary and High School, aged 9 to 16.

When Are the Junior Repertory Classes?

Classes are held most Saturday afternoons during school terms. Additional learning opportunities may be provided beyond the weekly classes.

Classes are orientated towards putting on one major production a year.

Romulus

Romulus is the most recently formed acting group belonging to Maitland Repertory Society. It was modelled after Reamus' success for younger members. Romulus is a development and performance group for Repertory's mature members and enables flexible performances outside the calendar of our main stage shows. Romulus meets regularly every Tuesday, 7:30pm, at the Maitland Playhouse.

Romulus is for people over 25 years who want to have fun and develop their skills by performing in and supporting all aspects of live theatre.
